February 23, 2021- COLORADO SPRINGS — On Tuesday, City Council approved a private activity bond for a 200-unit apartment complex on East Fountain and North Academy Loop.
City Council members say it will be place for individuals who make less than six figures a year.
According to Dave Geislinger, City Council member, only 32 homes for sale in Colorado Springs are under $300,000.
“Right now we don’t have those middle income homes. So we have those situations where people cannot find homes to move into.”
It’s an issue that the city is trying to change.
Geislinger says the housing will be designed for low income adults, both old and young, and families.
